Shari Hensrud to lead Investment Strategies at MissionSquare

2025-06-02T00:00:00.000Z

MissionSquare is pleased to announce the appointment of  Dr. Shari Hensrud  as Head of Investment Strategies, effective May 29. Hensrud will report to Doug Coté, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at MissionSquare.

In this newly created role, Hensrud will serve as an advisor to the CIO on matters related to the investment platform’s performance. She will oversee the MissionSquare investment strategy and equities team, while also leading investment product development and enhancement — including an expansion into alternative investment strategies such as private equity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shari to MissionSquare to our talented team of investment professionals,” said Andre Robinson, CEO and President of MissionSquare. “Her broad industry experience brings diverse ideas and strategies to our organization that will help support our continued competitive position in the market. We look forward to her leadership as we focus on expanding our capabilities and investment strategies to help improve retirement outcomes for our clients.”

Before joining MissionSquare, Hensrud served as Head of Risk and Analytics at Nitrogen Wealth, where she was responsible for the firm’s risk models and methodology. She also led product management and compliance, and has held CIO roles at various organizations throughout her career.

She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of North Dakota, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), and holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Management.

Hensrud’s appointment builds upon recent investments in MissionSquare’s leadership team. Most recently,  Oliver Meng  was promoted to Head of Stable Value, where he oversees diversification within MissionSquare’s Stable Value product offerings across multiple sectors, industries, issuers, and managers.

MissionSquare remains steadfast in its mission to help all plan participants retire well. The organization continues to introduce new tools and resources to help individuals and families build retirement security.
