What is a CFP® professional designation?
To earn a [small-caps]Certified Financial Planner[/small-caps]® professional designation, individuals must meet the following:
- Education - Complete CFP® Board-approved coursework and a bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
- Exam - Pass CFP® Board exam testing knowledge of holistic financial planning (59% pass rate).
- Experience - Earn 6,000 hours of related professional experience.
- Ethics - Commit to CFP® Board to act as a fiduciary and in the best interest of clients when providing financial advice.
